Abstract
For most of the first 100 years of the history of psychology, the reliability and validity of psychological assessment techniques were, in the main, the concerns of psychologists, their patients, and their professional colleagues. This has changed dramatically during the past two decades as the forum for debate on such reliability and validity has moved from the hospital, clinic, and psychologist's private practice office to the nation's courtrooms.
