HYSTEROGRAPHY USED IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF INTRAUTERINE TRAUMA

Abstract
The clinical syndrome resulting from intrauterine trauma encompasses a spectrum of clinical, pathologic, and roentgenologic findings. It represents a broader concept than originally discussed by Fritsch9 and [See figure in the pdf file] Asherman.2 Hysterography is essential in order to confirm the clinical diagnosis. Shortcomings and complications in both interpretation and technique result, however, from the basic pathophysiologic alterations of the uterus. A report on the pitfalls in interpretation and technique, as well as the value of follow-up hysterography, comprises the major consideration of this discussion.
