Visual impairment: its causes and the quality of explanation as perceived by parents of visually impaired children

Abstract
Data are reported from a national questionnaire survey of parents of visually impaired children in Scotland. The incidence of types of visual impairment are reported. These figures were thought to offer a more representative sample of visually zmpairing conditaons than and dissatisfaction with have focussed on blind and partially sighted registers. Parental satisfaction and dissatisfaction with the explanation received on the diagnosis o f their child's visual impairment are also reported.
