Abstract
Optically active compounds containing a deuterated chiral alkyl ester group [(R)-ArCOOCD(CD3)CD2-n-C5H11, ArCOOCH(CD3)CD2-n-C5H11, ArCOOCD(CH3)-n-C6H13: Ar = n-C8H17OC6H4C6H4COOC6H4] were prepared from 2-octanone and were proved to exhibit liquid crystal phases (Cr 73 SmCA* 117 SmC* 122 SmA 149 Iso) same as the parent compound [(R)-ArCOOCH(CH3)-n-C6H13].Keywords
