Large Floating Structure for Holding Adult Pacific Salmon (Oncorhynchus spp.)

Abstract
A large floating enclosure was used in a behavioral study to hold adult Pacific salmon in open sea water. The space enclosed approached the conditions of the natural environment and provided an excellent study area, almost completely free from the injuries and disease associated with the high water temperatures and abrasions caused by confinement of adult salmon in concrete ponds.
