Observations of cat leprosy

Abstract
Over a period of 4 years, 179 cases of cat leprosy were diagnosed in New Zealand Animal Health Laboratories, and 156 of these were in the North Island. There was an increased incidence during the winter months. Sixty-eight percent of affected cats were less than 3 years old. Variations in the number of bacilli and the nature of the granulomatous skin-reaction probably reflects the host's degree of resistance to the cat-leprosy organism.
