Resonant effects in the ${}^{13}C$ + ${}^{17}O$ reaction

Abstract

Structure is observed in the yield curve for the 871-keV

γ

rays of

{}^{17}O

from the

{}^{13}C

+

{}^{17}O

reaction but absent for other observable transitions. The single-particle nature of the

{}^{17}O

transition suggests an interpretation in terms of the nuclear Landau-Zener effect.
