Abstract
A case of multiple painful glomus tumors is reported in a 20-year-old woman. Multiple glomus tumors, although rare, have usually been unassociated with pain. The painful character of the lesions in the case presented above is explained on the basis of entrapment of myelinated nerve fibers in the stroma of the tumor. The various views on the histogenesis of such tumors are presented. It is believed that the tumor is probably related to Zimmermann's pericytes, differing, however, from a hemangiopericytoma in having a definite organoid pattern and lacking a malignant potential. Keywords
