Abstract
Fifteen cases of juvenile nasopharyngeal fibromata were studied clinically and histologically and their structure was compared to that of genital erectile tissue obtained from autopsies of fetuses and children. A similarity in the structure of these 2 tissues was observed. A concept of juvenile nasopharyngeal fibroma is arising from misplaced sequestrated genital erectile tissue during fetal development is discussed and this view is supported by anatomical, clinical and histological data. This publication has 17 references indexed in Scilit:
