Abstract
The limit in pulse repetition rate set by multimoding in the propagation of optical pulses through glass fibers is examined. Results are shown demonstrating that scattering causes a mode distribution independent of the launching conditions and suggesting that a 5-MHz repetition rate should be feasible with 1 km of fiber. Keywords
