Abstract
Extract Although the dangers of lead and its compounds to farm animals, especially cattle, have been recognized for many years, there are few recorded cases of lead-poisoning in dogs. Mitchell ( 1940 Mitchell, C. A. 1940. Canad. J. comp. Med., 4: 170–173. [PubMed] [Google Scholar] ) describes the clinical picture and post-mortem findings in one case and also comments on the dearth of information. Both Lieberman ( 1948 Lieberman, L. L. 1948. North Amer. Vet., 29: 574–577. [PubMed] [Google Scholar] ) and Bond and Kubin ( 1949 Bond, E. and Kubin, R. 1949. Vet. Med., 44: 118–123. [PubMed] [Google Scholar] ) report on a number of cases examined by them at their clinics. Keywords
