Abstract
The article explores the forms of the identification of professionals in organizations and their connections with role ambiguity, role conflict and alienation. To determine if there were significant differences between the four forms of identification in the degree of role conflict, role ambiguity, and alienation experienced, results of the analysis conducted are also reported. Identification with one's profession as opposed to the organization, and indifference to both do appear to be dysfunctional, as indicated in one of the illustrations.
