Abstract
Summary One hundred cases of ankylosing spondylitis and 138 cases of rheumatoid arthritis were selected for a comparative study of calcaneus changes. An interesting finding was the striking difference in the overall picture between ankylosing spondylitis and male rheumatoid arthritis, and the similarity with female rheumatoid changes. Age factors and duration of the disease could give no relevant explanation of the changes. Keywords
