A NEW METHOD FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF β-GLUCOSIDES USING 2-CHLORO-3,5-DINITROPYRIDINE

Abstract
The reaction of 3,5-dinitro-2-pyridyl α-glucopyranoside, readily derived from 1α-hydroxysugar and 2-chloro-3,5-dinitropyridine, with alcohols proceeded smoothly in the presence of a Lewis acid to afford the corresponding β-glucosides in good yields.
