Abstract
Celiac and superior mesenteric angiograms were made for the evaluation of obscure abdominal pain in 140 patients. In 14 patients (10%) angiographic evidence of pancreatic neoplasm was demonstrated. The angiographic demonstration of arterial encasement, hypervascularity, and tumor staining not only identified the site and presence of tumor, but also indicated the prognosis and the anticipated histologic findings. The value of celiac angiography for determining the presence of pancreatic neoplasm, and its safety and feasibility are well documented in this series.
