Abstract
This paper considers the problem of testing homogeneity of the normal means against the umbrella alternative:μ1≤…≤µh≥…≥μkwith at least one strict inequality, where μi's are the normal means and h is known or unknown. The likelihood ratio test is derived and tables of the level probabilities are given. Keywords
