Abstract
Pertinent data are given on solubility, ionic exchange, intensity of absorption by plants, and energy relationship in connection with the Mg nutrition of plants. Mg deficiency in plants is not widespread but is most prevalent on sandy loam soils in humid regions. The deficiency can usually be corrected for a number of yrs. through the application of a ton or more per acre of dolomitic limestone. An application of a soluble Mg salt containing the equivalent of 20-30 lb. of magnesia will usually overcome the deficiency for a yr.This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
