Abstract
Apanteles rubecula Marshall, a larval parasite of the imported cabbageworm, Pieris rapae (L.), was recently introduced into the United States (Puttier et al. 1970). To produce adequate numbers for field and laboratory use, an efficient rearing method had to be developed. The major problem in rearing many species of parasitic Hymenoptera is the availability of hosts. This obstacle was overcome recently with the successful rearing of P. rapae on artificial diet (Spencer and Peters of this laboratory, unpublished mss.). With the host and diet readily available, a method of rearing A. rubecula was developed and is described here. Keywords
