Movement of atmospheric dust in a point-grid corona discharge

Abstract
It is shown that the trajectories of atmospheric dust particles in the electric wind of a point-grid corona discharge are perpendicular to the grid and that there are few dust particles on the discharge axis. A laser anemometry system is used to measure the velocity component of the particles in the discharge region. A repulsive field method is used to estimate the mean mobility of charged dust particles outside the discharge. The motion of the electric wind is discussed.
