Abstract
We report the assignments of five autoionizing states of SO2 in the 960–810 Å region. The experimental data used in the present analysis have been previously obtained by a molecular beam photoionization mass spectrometry. The observed vibrational progressions are tentatively assigned to the following Rydberg transitions: 4b2→3s, 4b2→3d, 7a1→3p, 7a1→3d, and 2b1→3p. The window resonance series previously reported [C.Y.R. Wu and D. L. Judge, J. Chem. Phys. 74, 3804 (1981)] in a photoabsorption measurement is confirmed in the photoionization efficiency curves of SO+2 and SO+.Keywords
