Abstract
Nineteen patients suffering from allergic rhinitis and bronchial asthma were studied for bacterial allergy with Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Diplococcus pneumoniae [Streptococcus pneumoniae]. Allergy skin tests, provocative tests and the migratory inhibition factor assay were employed. Bacterial allergy is apparently more important than bacterial infection as a cause of allergic rhinitis and asthma in many instances. This is often overlooked by practicing allergists. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
