Abstract
Current evidence indicates that public acceptance of food biotechnology is largely product-specific; people will accept recombinant foods believed beneficial, safe, and consistent with personal value systems. Because values cannot be evaluated scientifically, they are best addressed by permitting consumer choice at the marketplace through product labeling.Keywords
