Abstract
A study of the reaction between transitionmetal complexes containing hydrogen bond acceptor ligands and purine nucleosides shows that specific binding to adenosine, but not to guanosine, occurs in octahedral complexes, whereas both bases react with square-planar complexes, with guan osine bindingvia N(7) and adenosine forming N(1),N(7) bridges to two metal atoms. Keywords
