Abstract
Only 3 reports of nevus lipomatosus cutaneus superficialis, a rare condition, have appeared in the American literature.1-3 In one of these the world literature was summarized.3 The disorder is a nevoid fatty growth adjacent to and perhaps arising from the walls of the blood vessels of the mid- and upper cutis. It usually is present at birth, appearing as yellow, somewhat linear, xanthoma-like papules, often on or near the pelvic girdle. The lesions may resemble an epidermal nevus in distribution. Report of Cases Case 1.— The patient was a 4-year-old white girl. At birth it was noted that she had tight, "scar-like" lesions almost in dermatomic distribution on the left abdominal wall. There were no symptoms. Growth of the lesions was proportionate to her development.
