Abstract
PHYSICIANS are called on with increasing frequency to be sleuths. With the wide distribution of proprietary medicines and numerous chemical compounds, the ability to pinpoint any one of these as a cause of organ dysfunction or failure becomes a formidable task for the busy physician. The number of patients found to have aplastic anemia has apparently increased, presumably because of greater exposure to many toxic agents. Physicians caring for such patients know how difficult it is to determine which agent is the offender. Exposure to proved toxins may be overlooked because they appear in forms that mask their identity. To draw attention to one such agent that may cause marrow suppression is the purpose of this report.
