Abstract
Since its isolation in 1952, the understanding of the function of aldosterone in mineral metabolism has grown by leaps and bounds. This review explores and summarizes the present state of knowledge concerning aldosterone and of a relatively new group of drugs which antagonize the action of aldosterone. Keywords
