Abstract
The MMPI was administered to 67 male and female young, middle-class, nonaddicted drug abusers who were participants at Encounter, a nonresidential drug rehabilitation program. The major findings were: (a) substantial differences in the MMPI profiles between the Ss in the present study and those previously reported for hard-core heroin addicts; (b) consistent differences in the MMPI profiles among subgroups of the 5s in the present study who were in different stages of treatment; (c) differences between subjects who left treatment prematurely and comparable 5s who remained. Keywords
