Abstract
The design and operation of the time‐of‐flight (TOF) mass spectrometer developed for ionic photofragmentation studies of molecules is described. Characteristics are summarized for three different operation modes of the TOF spectrometer; a pulse mode, a photoelectron–photoion coincidence mode, and a photoion–photoion coincidence mode. Experimental results for SiH4 are demonstrated as an example for the performance of the apparatus. Keywords
