Abstract
Heating of methanol of trimethyl phosphate in phosphorus pentoxide or polyphosphoric acid (or combinations) at 190° gave rise to a 36–39% yield of hydrocarbons made up of a complicated mixture of alkanes, cycloalkanes, and some alkenes.
