Abstract
Structural studies of an abnormal haemoglobin found in a Chinese newborn but not in her parents, showed it to be a new γ-chain variant, Hb F Malaysia. The first residue of the γ-chain was Cys and not Gly, and the γ-chain was of the type in which residue 136 is Gly and not Ala.Keywords
