Pseudosarcomatous Fibromatosis (Fasciitis)

Abstract
A case of pseudosarcomatous fibromatosis which developed in a plaque of localized scleroderma after trauma is reported. Two-hundred ninety-two cases described in the literature are reviewed and the pertinent histopathologic findings are discussed. The lesion, malignant only for the immediate vicinity and requiring only local extirpation, may be confused with fibrosarcoma resulting in unnecessary mutilating, radical surgery.
