Abstract
A wavelength-division-multiple-access circuit-switched network controlled by a central controller on a common-wavelength subcarrier channel is described. A reconfigurable data link in such a network is demonstrated using a liquid-crystal Fabry-Perot filter which transmits two wavelengths, one fixed for 1 Mb/s control information and one tunable for 622 Mb/s data. Keywords
