Abstract
Electro-anatomical studies were performed on adult cats. Electrical stimulation of various afferent pathways, i.e., resti-form body, brachium pontis and inferior olive induced 2 groups of fiber responses in the efferent pathway (brachium conjunc-tivum). Since the induced 1st wave (C1) had a latency of 1.0-1.5 m seconds, it was interpreted as representing a monosynaptic arc with synapse in a central cerebellar nucleus. The second wave (C2) had a latency of 2.5-3.0 m seconds and was interpreted as being multisynaptic through the cerebellar cortex. A third wave (C3) was seen (latency 8-10 m seconds) but could not be studied. Metrazol enhanced the amplitude of C2 and produced little change in C1. Lissiphen sodium pentobarbital, anoxia, hypo- and hyperthermia suppressed C2 before altering C1.Keywords
