Abstract
The immediate effects of intravenous verapamil in 20 cases of atrial fibrillation are reported. There are two main effects (1) verapamil causes a marked slowing of the ventricular rate. (2) Verapamil regularizes the ventricular rhythm by stabilizing A-V conduction. The conduction of the fibrillation impulses results in regular ventricular rhythm. Keywords
