Abstract
An approximate but successful non-linear design/ optimisation procedure is described for a GaAs MESFET oscillator, based on initial availability of an appropriate device model and a large-signal simulation analysis tool. A number of variations of the design procedure are compared, and each is checked against a full self-consistent solution for the optimized oscillator. Keywords
