Abstract
The temperature was measured with a 30 gauge thermistor probe which was passed through the root canal into the periapical area. The most frequent temperature recorded was 94.9[degree] F. There was a consistent lack of clinical or subjective symptoms in and around all teeth with periapical temperatures at 95.0[degree] F or less. The presence of acute clinical symptoms were always present in the teeth with periapical temperatures at 98.0[degree] F and above. No specific oral temperature occurs invariably with a specific periapical temperature.
