Abstract
Biopsy procedures of all kinds should be used far more frequently, not only for establishing initial diagnoses but also for providing more accurate clinical surveillance of the disease process. Frozen section and other techniques for rapid processing should be adopted in order to supply the clinician with more current pathological information. In the future, it is hoped that all biopsy reports can be made available within a few hours after the procedure itself.
