Abstract
Adult male Sprague Dawley rats were injected with low doses of the narcotic antagonist Naltrexone or vehicle and tested for motor activity upon an automated platform. A single exposure of four consecutive ten minute periods was employed. The drug caused dose-related declines in activity which could be dissociated from ataxia related nonspecific side effects. Endogenous opiates may be involved in exploration.
