Abstract
This paper describes the development, evaluation and underlying rationale of a two-day course on explaining and lecturing which has been used extensively in courses for lecturers. It is argued that since lecturing is the major method of teaching in universities it is important to help lecturers to improve their lecturing as well as to help them to become aware of the strengths and weaknesses of lectures. Keywords
