Abstract
Thermodynamic identities that relate the properties of a pure material just inside the two-phase solid-liquid melt regime to its properties in the solid region are derived. The ratios across the phase boundary of the Grüneisen parameter, specific heat, bulk modulus, and sound speed are all expressed in terms of two material parameters. A single graph giving these ratios is presented, this graph applies to any pure material. Specific numerical results are given for six common metals. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
