Abstract
A certain proportion of isolated cysts of Acetabularia cliftonii give rise to abnormal cells, roughly spherical in shape, which grow slowly by the addition of irregular protuberances and are unable to form a normal apex. They appear to be produced asexually by the parthenogenetic development of gametes. Keywords
