Quantum Dot between two Superconductors

  • 2 April 2000
Abstract
We investigate the interplay between multiple Andreev reflections and Coulomb interaction in quantum dot coupled to superconducting leads and subject to a finite potential bias V. A path integral formalism adapted for non-equilibrium systems is worked out. We derive an effective action of the system and evaluate the current I through the dot. In the presence of interactions, the subharmonic pattern of the I-V curve is shifted toward higher voltages. For sufficiently strong interaction the subgap current is virtually suppressed.
