The Effects of Laboratory Training: A Field Experiment

Abstract
This report of the results of a Swedish field experiment on the effects of laboratory training argues that individually different changes are to be expected after training, in contrast with changes in central tendency claimed by other researchers. A theoretical rationale elaborating upon the concepts of "meta-goals" and "meta-learnings" is provided. Observer ratings and the results of a variety of scales administered to industrial supervisory personnel reveal individually different changes in the areas of interpersonal behavior and attitudes.
