Abstract
Aromatic aldehydes and ketones can be reduced to the corresponding hydrocarbons in good yield by catalytic transfer reduction using cyclohexene or limonene as donor, palladium–carbon as catalyst, and a Lewis acid promotor such as ferric chloride.Keywords
