Cysticercosis and Taeniasis

Abstract
To the Editor: Articles on Taenia solium neurocysticercosis in the Journal,1–3 most recently that of Drs. Nash and Neva in the December 6 issue,1 describe advances in the diagnosis and treatment of this disease, but the authors stress the importance of preventive rather than therapeutic measures. Such preventive measures must be directed toward the epidemiologically important link in the transmission chain of cysticercosis: the person carrying the adult T. solium tapeworm.
