Abstract
Data on the scattering of slow neutrons are examined, using the theory of a previous paper, to see whether a size-resonance effect exists (of the kind which can be pictured qualitatively in terms of the crystal ball model). It is concluded that the effect is real, and that the resonances occur at the predicted values of the mass-number. It is also found that a single-particle wave function for the incident, neutron in the nucleus suffers less perturbation with medium weight nuclei than it does with heavy or light nuclei ; there seems to be no obvious explanation. Keywords
