Abstract
Eight stable strains (Detroit) of human epithe lial-like cells were isolated from a variety of tissues obtained from individuals with and without cancer. Five strains were derived from tissue cultures of sternal bone marrow, 2 strains from carcinomatus ascitic fluids, and 1 from lymphomatous pleural fluid. The histories of each of the cell strains, procedures used for their isolation, and maintenance, and preliminary observations on their morphology and growth behavior are presented. Keywords
