Abstract
Oscillator strengths for 140 lines of Th II have been calculated from the data in the NBS Tables of Spectral-Line Intensities. The relative level populations have been determined from measurements of lines of Fe I in the same light source. The absolute scale is determined by means of the lifetime of the level at 24 874 cm–1 recently measured by Andersen & Petkov. The uncertainty in our results is about 35 per cent.Keywords
