Abstract
It is shown that the usual WKB quantum condition for one‐dimensional potentials should be modified for problems defined on the finite interval (a,b) by adding the ’’correction’’ ΔV (x) = (h/2/8m)[π/(b−a)]2/cos2 {π[x−(a+b)/2]/(b−a) } to the actual potential. Numerical application shows the modified quantum condition to be a considerable improvement over the usual (i.e., unmodified) equation. Keywords
