Abstract
The perturbation of the single-particle motion by rotation, in deformed nuclei, produces a change in the potential-energy surface. In this work, the values of the collective nuclear parameters are obtained as a function of the angular momentum by minimizing the expectation value of the Hamiltonian for each value of . In this way, a natural extension of the previous methods used in computing these energy surfaces enables one to calculate the deviations from the law corresponding to rigid rotors. Comparisons with experimental data and previous theoretical calculations are included.
